The term "injured worker" refers to an individual who has been injured, harmed or become ill as a result of their job or workplace. This can include physical injuries such as sprains, strains, fractures and cuts, but also includes mental health conditions such as anxiety, depression, stress-related disorders and other occupational diseases caused by exposure to hazardous substances in the workplace. Injured workers may be eligible for workers' compensation benefits which provide financial support, medical treatment and rehabilitation services to help them recover from their injuries or illnesses and return to work.
